Expertise & Vessels

Twenty-five years of expedition yacht work, applied to a clean-sheet wind-powered platform

WindVoyage is not a startup learning the business. It is a coalition of teams who have already built, converted, sold, and operated the largest expedition yachts in the world — now applying that experience to a category nobody has built at scale: the wind-powered superyacht.

Expedition Conversions

01

Through Xplorer Yachts, Paul Madden’s firm has guided UHNW clients through the conversion of commercial and government vessels into ocean-going expedition yachts — projects currently underway in Turkey, and Argentina. Few teams in the world have done this work at the same depth.

VPLP has spent four decades on the leading edge of sail engineering, from grand-prix racing to ocean cargo. Their wing-sail systems are now in commercial service, with measurable fuel and emissions reductions verified by independent operators. WindVoyage is the first project to apply that engineering at superyacht scale.

Shipyard relationships

03

Paul Madden’s career was built representing Europe’s most demanding shipyards — Blohm+Voss, CRN/Ferretti Group, Camper & Nicholsons. That background informs how WindVoyage manages Norse and MSM: with the standards, contractual rigour, and client communication clients expect from a top-tier European yard.

Owner Advocacy

04

WindVoyage is owner-led, not yard-led. Every project is executed with an owner’s representative model: independent oversight of construction, transparent budgeting, and unambiguous accountability for the build team’s performance.

The Wind Voyage range

Two flagship platforms, plus dedicated support and charter editions. Every vessel is designed by VPLP, built at Norse Shipyard, and delivered as a fully wind-powered expedition yacht — engines optional, oceans included.

The Range
Each Wind Xplorer is engineered around a wing-sail propulsion system, hydro-regenerative drives, and integrated solar surfaces — sized for ocean ranges that motor yachts cannot match without burning prohibitive amounts of fuel.

The Wind Xplorer 80 is the entry point into the WindVoyage range — purpose-built for owners who want trans-ocean range, twelve-guest comfort, and the ability to cross the Atlantic or the Pacific under sail. It is the first 80-metre yacht engineered from the keel up around a VPLP wing-sail platform.

The Wind Xplorer 110 is the WindVoyage flagship — a 110-metre ocean platform with the comfort, autonomy, and presence of the world’s most accomplished motor yachts, powered primarily by VPLP wing sails. Designed for owners who intend to cross oceans, anchor in places few yachts of this size ever reach, and do so with the lowest fuel burn in their class.

Charter guests will appreciate the romance (and quiet) of sailing passages, in addition to all the amenities they would expect.
